This year, it’s taking place in Abu Dhabi and will feature over 2,500 athletes from across the globe competing in nine different sports: tennis, swimming, track and field, bocce (an Italian bowling game), powerlifting (a strength-testing competition), golf (yes—that’s also part of this list), wheelchair basketball, goalball (a type of blind soccer), paratriathlon (swimming plus cycling) and sitting volleyball.

Plus, there are two new disciplines being added to the World Games roster: para table tennis and para triathlon.

Don’t let fear hold you back. Don’t let other people’s opinions stop you from achieving your goals. Don’t let your own self-doubt hold you back. And don’t let your own expectations hold you back either!
