Maybe you don’t think that there is such a “European” place in Solo – a city that is so synonymous with Javanese tradition. The Heritage Palace is one of Solo’s relatively new tourist attractions, which was opened in mid-2018. This place was originally a sugar factory inherited from the Netherlands from 1892, revitalized into a family tourist spot.

If you like taking pictures, you will be satisfied here, because almost every corner of the place, which is thick with classic European nuances, is very Instagrammable and memorable as if it were not in Indonesia.

You can visit various areas here, including the 3D Trick Art Museum, Omah Kwalik, Transportation Museum, Industrial Museum, Garden Retro Paradise, Kids Town, and Food Street. There is also a collection of various antique cars that are cool. And one of them was even used by our Proclaimer Bung Karno!

  1. Ceto Temple, Karanganyar

It only takes an hour’s drive from Solo city; you can already arrive at the beautiful gate to the seventh heaven. At first glance, this gate is similar to Lempuyangan Temple on Pulau Dewata, Bali. But in fact, this is the gate of Ceto Temple, located in Tawangmangu.

Many tourists take pictures at this gate with a background decorated with blue sky with white clouds. So, isn’t it wrong if this gate is called the gate to the seventh heaven? But if you want to get more exotic photos, just try to come at dusk. The color of the sky decorated with a tinge of orange from the setting sun will add a magical impression to your photos.

Your journey here, of course, doesn’t just end at the gate. The main building of Ceto Temple is no less interesting. The rocks arranged with terraces have their own philosophy. And you can enjoy the beauty of this Hindu royal heritage while breathing the cool air typical of the mountains.

  1. Batu Seribu, Sukoharjo

One of the main potentials of the Batu Seribu geopark area is Sepikul Hill. The origin of Sepikul Hill’s name is because Mount Sepikul and Mount Twins, as the mountain in front of it, look parallel. It was as if the two of them were mountains ready to be carried.

In addition, what is no less interesting are the viewing post, camping ground, play area, and swimming pool. However, it seems that almost everyone agrees that the most beautiful thing here is the view of the rocky hills combined with shady trees, which are very exotic and memorable.
